North American Prep West Teams
GRIZZ CUP MLK TOURNAMENT
January 14 - 18, 2021
ATTENTION: Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, several of the major facilities that host the Grizz Cup have closed, which resulted in the Grizz Cup losing 150 game slots. They have secured ice-time in several facilities within the Utah Valley, three rinks in Salt Lake City and one each in Provo and Ogden. Originally NA Prep had been one of the organizations removed from the tournament due to rink closures and team cuts, but after appealing that decision, we were put back into the tournament. NA Prep has three teams (Squirts, Pee Wees, and Bantams) participating in the Grizz cup. We are a "flex team" in this tournament, meaning if there are any other teams that drop out, we are the teams that will fill a vacancy within a division, whether it be A or AA.
(Ex. Our Bantams are currently playing AA; should an A team drop out in the Bantam division, NA Prep Bantams could fill the vacancy at the A level.)
This was one of the bargaining chips I had to play in order to secure our organization in the tournament, so please remain flexible; I'm just grateful our players are getting a chance to play.

COVID- POLICIES
Each ice arena we visit will have different COVID protocols, so expect to be temp checked, probed, and prodded all weekend! Be prepared to sign many COVID release forms as needed... We are waiting on the finalized Covid policies from the rinks, as soon as we get them we will pass them along.
I need to compile a list of names of all parents, players & staff that might be in attendance at any of the rinks all weekend. What I'm hearing is 1-2 spectators per player, depending on the venue.
The following guidelines are in place as of 12/30/20 for Weber County Sports Complex, Olympic and NHL.
Games played on the Olympic Rink do not have a spectator limit, as we have 2,300 seats available. Games played on the NHL rink, however, have a two-person per player limit due to limited space within the NHL Rink.
Please space yourselves 6' between households while inside the facility.
The attached form needs to be signed by all persons entering the facility EVERY TIME they enter, including refs, game staff, etc. No need to print, this is where the Master list comes in. You’ll just have to sign the line next to your name.
WC Ice has a temperature check station upon entering the facility. Every person must have their temperature taken & sign the waiver (above).
Face coverings over the nose & mouth are required at all times by all guests and staff, even on the bench, except while on the ice surfaces. Please make sure all players/skaters are equipped with a face covering that they can keep around their necks so they can quickly pull it up and down when they change lines, exit the ice, etc. At WC Ice sheet- no masks are required while skating. Coaches should wear them at all times unless actively skating. If the bench face-covering requirement is updated before the tournament, we will let tournament personnel know. We have no indication at this time that the bench face-covering requirement will be lifted. Players & coaches should arrive prepared.
Locker Room occupancy should be kept to 15 minutes before & after games, although for convenience to staff, locker room keys will be available prior to 15 minutes before each game. Team Managers may inquire at the front counter upon arrival for their locker room key. Face coverings should be worn by all while in locker rooms.
Link below for 2 masks ideas, attached to the player's helmet and are off the face to allow better breathing. Or use a neck gaiter, for easy off and on.

CCM GAME ON MASK
There is also a Pure Hockey in SLC, I just called them and they have “100s” of CCM Game on masks. Masks or gaiters/Buffs are required on the ice in Park City for the add-on Bantam Exhibition game.
Dryland/Warmups are not allowed in the facility at this time. If this is updated before the tournament, we will let tournament personnel know. Please plan on having teams warmup outside the facility.
As you visit the facility, you will notice staff sanitizing high-touch surfaces every hour as well as sanitizing locker rooms between uses. Our sinks & toilets have been converted to touchless fixtures, and we are adding water bottle fill stations throughout the facility for your convenience.

NA PREP DINNER BANQUET
We are hoping to have a team dinner on Thursday night at our hotel if the Covid protocols at that hotel allow it. If you are uncomfortable with attending dinner, no worries. Happy you are here to play hockey.
UNIFORMS
Jerseys, pant shells, and socks will be distributed at practice on Thursday. We have gone ahead and put player names on the jerseys; we ask each family to contribute $10 for your player's nameplate to cover those expenses. (Checks payable to NA Prep)
PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
***Mouth guards are required***
HOTEL
We have been told our organization has been placed at the same hotel and are in the process of finalizing hotel arrangements, and confirmations will be sent to each of the teams tomorrow.
